Valley of the Sun, we arrived yesterday.  HOT!!!!  That’s the word, it felt like a blast oven.  It still is very warm this morning.  I’m sitting under the air conditioner while I give everyone an update.   I suppose it’s going to be hot where ever we go in the Desert Southwest this time of the year, except the high country.  I’ve got to set up the trailer and check the trucks fluids before it gets too hot to move.

Every squirrel in the world wishes they had a tree this size.

I don’t know if they were sad or glad to see us go.

It’s sure a pretty view, so I thought I would post one more photograph of Yosemite

Living in Alaska, the sounds of the night are so different from the Lower 48.  Even in the lower 48 the differences we have come across between areas is dramatic.  The RV park in Oakhurst sat above this stream, it was full of sex starved horny frogs.  All the males were trying to out croak the other to attract those females I suppose.  It sure was a chorus of sound that we have missed.

Oakhurst, California.  This is where we stayed while we ventured up into Yosemite.  The little stream below the camper was full of croaking frogs.  I haven’t heard that sound in a while.  It was rather pleasant, still the day before we left the temps climbed up into the one hundred degrees and over range.

This was tonights sunset…beautiful is all one can say.

We made a big push yesterday and made it into Yucca Valley.  Three hundred and seventy five miles is just too far for one day.  Nine hours on the road, upon going to bed last night I still felt as if I was vibrating from the drive.  We will stay for a week to visit friends and then push on towards New Mexico.  The desert is warm  and humid this morning because it rained just before we arrived.  I awoke really early this morning because of traffic noise.  Betabel, was quiet compared to the park here in Yucca Valley.

Nonetheless, the sky was beautiful, there is no where else like the desert southwest for sunrise and sunsets.

There isn’t words enough to describe the fine folks at BetaBel RV.  Until we meet again, Happy Trails.
