Working-hard.jpgEvery organization that is a non-profit depends and exist only through the dedication and hard work of it’s volunteers.  This man is one of those, he was always there to lend the Midnight Sun Intertribal Powwow a helping hand.  Thanks Ray, this was taken back in 2002.  A blast from the past, I wish the Midnight Sun Intertribal Powwow nothing but the best.

I took this photo yesterday, and awoke this morning to hear of the death of a good friend.  Bob Maguire of Fairbanks Alaska.  Drum Keeper of Soaring Eagle Drum, a man very respected and loved throughout the Native community of Alaska.  Bob and I worked as Chairmen on the Midnight Sun Powwow and were drummers in the drum Walking Hawk.  He was a friend, who i respected immensely.

7861.jpg This was given to me by my father in law, years ago in the late sixties.  It was in the safe keeping of my brother in law for years.  It has now been returned to me by his wife.  I will forever keep them both in my memory and will carry it into the circle when given the chance.  In memory of Kenneth J Walton, and John L Walton.  Thank you Kippy Walton for returning it to me.  Kenneth told me it came from Peru.  It’s a beautiful piece of wood, with a lot of attached memories.
