I thought I would throw in a change of pace in pictures.  This was taken in Muskogee Oklahoma at Spaulding Park.  It’s got some really huge old trees and a little pond.  In the pond was some bull frogs, I couldn’t ever get a good shot of one.

The lady next door to us in this RV park has a flower garden growing in pots, she carries with her all over the country.  The front of their RV looks like a green house through the windows.

On the trip up to the Lake Buchanan we saw our first bunches of the state flower blooming away in the medium and along the route 281 up from San Antonio.  Along with what I think were some Indian Paints blooming too.  No where for me to pull over with the RV to allow me to photograph them.  I’ll look around this spring for more flowers to capture.

A small gift found in the grass beside the RV in Corpus Christi, Texas at the Colonia Del Rey RV Park.  A gift I now give to the friends at the park we made and know.  Who knows when and if we return but for now no goodbyes, just a farewell and we will see you on the trail.

Flowers in the clover, very small flowers they may be but very very pretty.  I’m sitting here typing this at 5:48 in the morning. Outside the window here in Colonia Del Rey RV Park in Flower Bluff.  The crickets are just singing away.  You can hear the traffic from the street increasing as people begin their day going off to work.  It’s so strange to hear these insects at this time of the year, chirping away outside.  All those years in Alaska made one forget what music it really is to hear crickets in the grass.

And for those who survived Beast Cancer

Beautiful flowers and beautiful weather this morning.  I awoke early to watch the sun rise in a clear blue sky and it was like a red rubber ball rising over the island.  The breeze is from the north and cool in the low 60′s but it feels great.  Days like this is why we are here.  So we are both sitting here watching the sun rise and drinking hot coffee.  Life is good, and the breeze blowing through the window while I sit here posting this is pure pleasure upon my skin.  It wasn’t too long ago and I would sit looking out the window of the Permafrost Ranch in the dead of winter wishing I was here.  Well, wishes do come true.

This is for my daughters, who both still live in Alaska.  Summer is quick in that part of  the world, and the season has changed there to winter.  Here we live in summer, and the flowers are still blooming.  This is for you kids, the fall and early winter in Alaska has it’s special moments but this is to remind you of those sweet short days of summer.
