Beautiful Little Birds

The feeder next door has a constant stream of these little beauties coming all day long.  I counted as many as five sitting around the feeder earlier today.

This little male looks like he’s a bit on the ragged side, but beautiful to say the least.

He’s watching me real close because I am real close.

Caught this paddle boarder being led out to sea by a Seagull

We watched this beautiful bird as the sun was going down, fish for his dinner in the shallows of the beach.  When a wave washed in he would walk along the waters edge and was picking up something every now and then and eat it.

Got another shot of that beautiful bird down by the docks yesterday.

Found this fellow looking for dinner among the rocks at the bay.

We were sitting in the truck and I noticed a humming bird fly into this bush.  I didn’t see where it was at first, it took me a while to make out where it was.  Then I saw it sitting on the nest.  It sat there a while and I rolled down the window to get a shot and it flew off.  I grabbed one of the nest with Debbie’s I Phone.  The size of the nest is about size of a golf ball.

I need help in identifying this rare bird sighting I had in LA yesterday.  The wild life in Los Angeles is quite different than what I’ve been seeing on the feeder.   I must apologize for not posting sooner but it’s not that easy finding these rare birds out there in the wild.
