This injured raptor flew away but I’m worried about his survival. He’s injured badly from the looks of it and I called the rescue folks down by Palm Springs. They had no one in this area that could capture the injured bird anyway. They need some one like the Bird Learning and Treatment Center in Anchorage
We went out to Hazel Bazemore County Park yesterday, to see the raptors. In the fall they have record numbers of raptors migrate through this area on their southward migrations. They count more birds there than anywhere else in the country according to those who keep the stats for Bird Watch which is Hawk Watch International We saw some amazing birds but realized immediately i didn’t have the appropriate lens or camera system to capture much of what passed by that afternoon. I’ll have to invest some money in better optics soon I have a feeling. Nonetheless, we caught this fellow on the pole as we were driving out of the park. I suggest all go see this beautiful place if you can.
