End of Year

Life on the Road

It’s New Years Eve and to be completely honest.  I’m dreading this new year more than any I’ve ever dreaded before.  The unknown, sneaks up on one, unexpectedly, quickly and with a sudden finality.  I sit here trying to put thoughts on paper and I’m overcome.  My mind is troubled, and uneasy, it’s filled with a sadness that I can’t seem shake.
A sadness because of the loss of a very old friend.  The finality of death.  The unknown, the great mystery,  and the end we all face.  The New Year is suppose to bring us the promise and hope of better things to come.  I certainly hope so, because this last year ended so sadly.
So, here is to all my friends, and family.  Hold your loved ones close, drink a toast to the old and to the new.  As we all hope for a better year.  Happy New Year to each and every one.

  1. Jasamine says:

    Celtic Blessing of the Nine Elements:

    May you go forth under the strength of heaven, under the light of sun, under the radiance of moon;
    May you go forth with the splendor of fire, with the speed of lightning, with the swiftness of wind;
    May you go forth supported by the depth of sea, by the stability of earth, by the firmness of rock;
    May you be surrounded and encircled, with the protection of the nine elements.

    My toast to you. Happy New year.
