Female Rufous Hummingbird

Pretty Lady

Life is good here in the Southern Rockies.  I know at times it seems like nothing is good with the world.  Then at other times I do realize I’m a very fortunate fellow with the beauty that surrounds me.  Here lately I’m trying my best not to be so negative in any of my thoughts and actions.  Life is to short to be angry at the world.

    Four Years on the Road

This month will make the four year mark since leaving Alaska, friends, and family behind. A decision that in the making was one of the hardest choices I ever had to make. Nonetheless, a journey that I needed to follow and now in doing so, I believe the choice was the right decision.

I’m contented with the road I have traveled this past four years. It’s not always been easy and the road traveled not always smooth. More or less, the last four years has been exciting. I’ve seen new places and met new people. I have caught up with old acquaintances and friends. I’ve made new friends and lost some old ones along the way.

I’m now more at ease at times with this chosen lifestyle. There is still moments of reflection upon things and the people left behind when one makes this lifestyle choice. As I sit here and watch the hummingbirds outside my window and the sun rise on the southern Rocky mountains of Colorado I have come to the realization I’m pretty blessed with an abundance of beauty around me.

As I’m sitting here writing this out, the sun is popping up over the horizon. A large flock of geese just flew into the rising sun honking in the morning. I hope the next four years is just as exciting and memorable as the last. I do believe it will be. Thanks for watching the Squirrel Cam.

You are VERY blessed. You also have blessed us with all your pictures/travels. Just keep plugging along with your ‘”dear heart ” Debbie and continue to enjoy what the good Lord has given you until you ride off into the sunset. Jean

Looks like she’s carrying her heart in her throat.
    Lovely little creatures.
And, pray tell, where are you headed next?
