    The bird is so pretty. Is this the male or female? Do they act like the blue jays we have here? You know ours are dominant birds, territorial and sometimes quite mean to other birds and cats! But they are beautiful.

    Hi munford, I don’t know if it’s male or female, I’ve not seen enough of them to differentiate between the two sexes yet. I think they are very similar birds as the Blue Jay or even the Canadian Jay’s we had in Alaska.

    OH! thats what we also see @ the feeder..a western scrub-jay!! had us puzzled, as regular blue jays do not get that large,
    loud bird as well…chased all the other birds off….LOUD! The males are blue, the females greyish…
