Squirrels of Oklahoma

Photogenic Little Female

Isn’t she a sweetie, and this is the first squirrel I photographed on the feeder.  I thought the first one I saw was a boy but I now think it was the same one as this little female.

Oh, she is a honey. So sweet and pretty!
Cloudy with thunder here today so far. We haven’t seen a drop of rain here in Arlington though. It is still in the 80’s but they are still forecasting 106 for today’s high.
Hope it has cooled off a bit for you, Bob. At the end of the week we will have 65 days of 100 and above temperatures. The old record is 69 days. Very possible for us the set the record this year. My daughter in Austin said that they are forecasting 109, 110 and 111 there for this weekend!
I am so tired of this hot, hot weather just like you are, Bob. This is just like the summer of 1980 and we all wore Tee shirts the next year saying, “I survived the summer of 1980.” Now we need tee shirts saying that we survived the summer of 2011.
    Stay cool.

She really is very pretty. Do you think she has babies that she’s feeding? If so, she’s probably thrilled to find a source of high-protein food.

Stay cool, you guys. What a nasty summer you’ve had to get through.

It’s cooled significantly enough for me to almost be comfortable. It’s either that or I’ve grown accustomed to the heat. I agree, a t-shirt honoring the survival of the summer of 2011 is in order. Just what the graphic would be I don’t have a clue. Does anyone know a good graphic artist who would be willing to draw something up? We are staying as cool as we can but your still a lot warmer than we are. The little female is hanging around but so is the RV Park barn cat. I have been feeding the cat to keep her from stalking the birds but I’ve seen her now run the squirrel up the tree a couple of times. I’ve created a problem it seems.

Maybe you could build a ladder between the feeder and the tree?

I know someone who does great cartoons–including squirrels. She sells her stuff through Society 6. I don’t know what she does about commissioned work but you could always ask her.

We have been feeding the cat she is not interested in the birds or the squirrel, she is fat and sassy!!!
