Mocking Birds

American Mocking Bird

IMG_1007-copy1.jpg One of the few birds here in Corpus that will eat my peanut butter concoction that the birds in Alaska ate with gusto.

It looks like it’s a smarter bird than the doves, but that may just be the shape of its eyes. It’s a good-looking bird. We don’t have them around here.

I miss the Mockingbirds we had back home. really cute. It’s been so cold here, below -0F at nights, that the birds are staying away it seems.

I was wondering, is the little squirrel that was injured doing any better? I hope so.

Do you all ever miss Alaska?

    Hi Katrina
It’s a pleasure to watch the mockingbirds around here. Brrrrrrr, cold weather is one of the things I don’t miss about Alaska. I hope it warms up for you soon.

I’m afraid the injured squirrel hasn’t came back around. I don’t think it survived that injury.

Oh yes, there is much I miss about Alaska and then again there is much I don’t. I miss my family most of all but besides that. There is the people of Alaska. Overall they are some of the friendliest you will ever meet. I miss the summer light, where the sun is up all day. There is an old saying, Everyone should go see Alaska at least once in their life. They then say, only go when you are old, because to go when one is young is to see the best. From then on nothing will ever look the same.

Alaska will always be home in many ways. I just don’t want to spend the winter anymore. I’ve had enough of that part of Alaska.
