Old Trees
Goose Island Live Oak
Age in excess of 1000 years. This old tree has been there a very very long time. It’s in the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in South Texas. While visiting this spot, I had a overpowering sense of peace. When we were there a family was visiting and the kids were hanging on another big oak, an off spring of this old timer. Their laughter rang through the grove and added a sense of new life to a very old place. The circle of life. I would be highly surprised if the local native community doesn’t use this park for ceremony. It certainly feels like a special spot to this old squirrel. I will return to this old tree, to just enjoy its serenity.
