Quasiemoto of the Finch World

House Finch

0020-1.jpg This poor bird has a growth that has destroyed one eye, but I’ve seen him several days in a row so he is surviving. ¬†For how long is the question.

Poor thing. Does it still have vision in the eye with the growth above it? It’s hard to tell from the picture. He must be happy to have found your feeders.
At the local zoo a few years ago I saw a squirrel that was totally blind. Both eyes must have been done in during a fight and they were all grown over with scar tissue. He looked healthy and got around well so his hearing must have been quite sharp. He hung around the waterbird lagoon living on the seeds that were put out for the birds.
Wild animals and birds sometimes do well when their situations seem dire.

Poor little fellow.God bless your heart Bob for keeping the birds in food.I’m betting it breaks your heart to see the Finch that way. It about killed me to see my Doe with the hurt right front leg & she could not even paw for food in the winter thats why I started putting out corn & kept her belly full for 2-3 yrs before someting happened to her.Bob your doing a good thing there so keep up the good work & I’m sure the man upstairs will take care of you & Deb.
