They so remind me of the little Red Polls of Alaska but the beak is completely different. I wonder if they had a common ancestor in the past.

Bob I’ve got a question for you which is:Do you miss the Permafrost Ranch yet ? I mean after all like you said & I’ve even noticed some time back how much the House Finches looks like The Red Poles.
Such a pretty bird. Wish they would come to my feeder, but I never see birds like this around here.
