Tres Rios, Texas

Squirrels of Tres Rios

Tres-Rios.jpg It’s 3 AM in the morning and the insomnia has kicked in.  This is a picture of one of the squirrels of Tres Rios RV Campground, in Somervell County, Glen Rose, Texas.  It’s an Ocean Canyon Properties Resort.  We were offered a free stay in this park for a few days to listen to the sales pitch for membership.  It’s an exclusive park for members only.  Very nice park in a very pretty setting, but just a tad too expensive for us to buy into I’m afraid.  This offer was a deal from the dealership where we purchased the RV.  This morning we will pack it up and move on down the road.  We are finding it’s very expensive to live in these parks if you pay day rates.  We were having a heck of a time trying to figure out where to head next.  So it looks as if we will move on down towards the coast until we really can decide on the direction of travel we’re wanting to take.  We thought we would be here for at least the free 20 days that was offered, but with the stipulations placed upon those free days if your not buying a membership makes it almost impossible for us to do so.  The Sales pitch was not a hard sell to a point but the free stay was a tad miss-represented in the lead up to the sales pitch.  Nonetheless, this is a beautiful setting and park.  The folks are friendly and we have enjoyed our short stay.  I will post more as soon as we drop anchor again.  One really sweet thing happened, as the sales pitch was being presented.  One of the members daughters brought her 4 year old into the office and she wanted to sit in Santa’s lap.  We talked for a little while and then she brought me a cookie.  Her mother said she was a bit worried and upset because there wasn’t any milk to go with the cookie.  Santa, likes those cookies.  Until I catch up with everyone later, we are somewhere on the road, looking for nuts and squirrels

There are all kinds of websites on different parks. I’m sure you have seen them, but just in case, this one seems pretty comprehensive. I may be wrong of course, since I’ve never looked at these sites before …

Dang, Bob, I hate to hear this. I know how excited ya’ll were about finding this place. Please stay in touch and remember you are always welcome here anytime. If I can get my brother in law to move that rig he has parked here, I’ll have a place for you to plug in.

Be safe and let me here from you and Debbie so I know ya’ll are doing okay.

On the road again kinda like Willie Nelson,, were ever you & Deb go to I hope they have free internet service & as far as looking for nuts & squirrels look in the mirror & in your chat room you’ll find all kinds of nuts ,,as far as the squirrels goes you’d be on your own on that but my guess is look up in the trees

So sorry to hear that things aren’t working out quite as you wanted them to. I’ll be thinking of you guys & wish that things eventually work out. This must be very difficult for you & quite stressful…sending good vibes your way. 🙂 That little squirrel is very cute but a little lean.

What a bummer it was misrepresented to you. Hope things will get better quick and you find a good place to spend some days relaxing and enjoying nature and wildlife.
What does this squirrel have in his mouth? Pecans? He surely looks like a tall squirrel.
Not feeding many squirrels right now. I think they have plenty of pecans to eat right now.
I am feeding lots and lots of beautiful Doves. Kitty enjoys watching the birds so much right now as there are so many of them.
You all take care and I hope what Z sent to you will help.
