Blue Jays

Blue Jays of Texas

I heard it first, then it came to the feeder. ¬†Blue Jays, the first I’ve seen since our arrival here in Texas. ¬†Beautiful birds to say the least.

They are very pretty birds…but watch out for them. They are pigs & will dive bomb squirrels. I watch them do it at my house & the squirrels are in the trees when they do it!!!

they’ll dive bomb people too, lol. and theyre so damn noisy. theyll scream like a hawk to scatter all the other little birds at my feeder right before they come down and grab a nut.

Those jays are in my neck of the woods too, but strangely not as common as they used to be. Matter of fact the amount of birds in general has really dropped, or least it seems to me. I remember seeing flocks of 10-15 blue jays roaming around my home, now, if you see 2 at a time , ,maybe twice a week you are lucky.

No Wood Thrushes, Meadowlarks, or many of the birds I used to see as a child are here now.

Mockingbirds, bluebirds, are most common species here . Good photography Bob.
